Basics of Omaha High Low Poker Omaha poker is often played high/low, which means that the highest and lowest hands split the pot. Game Structure
8 or better Omaha (High-Low) is usually played as '8 or better'. This means the low hand must "qualify" by being at least an 8 low (the biggest card must be 8 or lower). A low hand can only be awarded if there are 3 different cards between Ace-Eight on the board and at least 2 different cards between Ace-Eight in a players hand. If these conditions do not exist, then the entire pot is awarded to high hand only.
